Welcome

“JCC Opens a New Road”

In October 2015, JCC opened on the street connecting the Hyehwa-dong Rotary and the Seoul City Wall via Hyehwamun Gate, one of the four small gates of the fortress wall. The opening of the Center has created a new cultural road that links Gyeongbokgung Palace and Changgyeonggung Palace, icons of traditional culture, to Daehangno, where young, experimental culture blossoms.

Since its establishment in 1977, JEI has single-mindedly focused on the education industry with a firm belief that every person has infinite potential and spontaneity and when provided with a proper educational environment, everyone could be nurtured into a creative and competent individual.
With the goal of strengthening the emotional sensibility of students and parents, JEI has been hosting a national poetry reading contest since 1991.

And as an extension of this goal, the JCC, which opened in 2015, is an educational, artistic, and creative space that has been developed as a part of JEI’s effort in creating a proper educational environment. JCC is an arena where education and culture meet, but it also hopes to become a place for citizens to receive spiritual consolation and restore their artistic sensibility. We hope that more people can enjoy art and culture and thus blossom their creativity at Hyehwa-ro.
